New webinar series focused on overlooked and overburdened populations

The National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) is hosting a new webinar series focusing on specific groups that are disproportionately at risk of heat illness or death, but are often overlooked in general treatments of at-risk groups. The idea is to provide a deep background level of understanding on the group and what mechanisms contribute to their heightened risk, as well as solutions that address those mechanisms.

The first webinar of the series will focus on LGBTQIA+ Communities – Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression. This session will address the potential unique risks and exposure to extreme heat in LGBTQIA+ communities.
